What Counts: Harnessing Data for America’s Communities, provides a roadmap for the strategic use of data to reduce poverty and unemployment, expand access to quality education, and build stronger, more resilient communities. Published by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and the Urban Institute, with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the book features essays from a diverse group of authors on data-driven approaches to community development, ranging from high-level systems change, to practical "how-to" guides, to online tools for communities.

Visualizing Diet Quality at Multiple Levels of the Food Stream is a white paper that uses the Healthy Eating Index (HEI-2010), a scoring metric developed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) to assess diet quality in relation to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA). It is the latest installment in a series of communication products developed by the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research in conjunction with NCI.
