The Future of Food in Your Neighborhood Study (foodNEST) has reached the 50% recruitment mark, with 260 participants enrolled in the study (as of January 12, 2016). The primary goal of the foodNEST is to examine changes in diet among people living in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood of Cleveland and the Southside neighborhood of Columbus over a two-year period to assess the impact of the newly forming Hub 55 food hub. The study will enroll a total of 520 primary food shoppers in both communities who will complete comprehensive 24-hour dietary recalls at baseline, 12 months, and 24 months, and a short survey to assess psychosocial and behavioral factors that influence food shopping and diet.

Project Manager Chaturia Rouse states "We are excited to continue enrolling at various schools, community organizations, and recreation centers. foodNEST recently completed more than fifty store audits in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood in Cleveland and Southside neighborhood in Columbus. The data are now being analyzed to get a better understanding of the food environment."

The foodNEST is still recruiting study participants in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood of Cleveland,
Ohio and in the Southside neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio.
