Joshi, K, Smith, S, Trapl, E, Bolen, S. Implementing a Clinic-Community Partnership to Promote Fruit and Vegetable Consumption among Food Insecure Patients with Hypertension in Safety Net Clinics. Poster presentation, Annual meeting of the Society of General Internal Medicine (Hollywood, FL), May 2016.

Madalena Monteban (pictured at left) presented the poster “Mapping Food Networks and Habits among SNAP Recipients,” at the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA) conference in Newport Beach, California, April 5-10. Additional authors on the poster were Freedman, D; Matlack, K; Jennings, E; Walsh, C, and Bess, K.

Erika Trapl, PhD, was a featured speaker at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Health Collegium of Scholars on May 4. Her presentation was entitled “Nobody smokes them regularly”: Cigar, Cigarillo, and Little Cigar Use among Youth and Young Adults.

A number of PRCHN staff and faculty contributed posters to the Case Western Reserve University Research ShowCASE on April 15, 2016.

 REACH Project Manager Anna Thornton, MPH, the lead author on the poster "Implementing the Use of Electronic Health Record Referral for Clinic to Community Linkage in Safety Net Clinics: Chronic Disease Self-Management Program Lessons Learned." Other authors on the poster were: J. Lever; S. Bolen; S. FallCreek; and E. Borawski.

 Predoctoral Fellow Stephanie Pike, MPH, discusses her poster "Food Retail Options Available in Walking Distance of a Food Desert." Other authors on the poster were C. Rouse; E. Trapl; A, Sehgal; E. Borawski; and D. Freedman.

In addition, FreshLink Program Manager Kristen Matlack, MPH, was project mentor to undergraduate student Liana Manuel, who was the lead author on the poster "Exploring Social Network Density Related to Food Habits among People Receiving Food Assistance Benefits." Post-Doctoral Scholar Madalena Monteban, PhD, and Associate Director Darcy Freedman, PhD were additional authors on the poster.
