BCOP Launches Video Series
The Building Capacity for Obesity Prevention (BCOP) project has launched a series of 19 videos designed to provide practical advice to SNAP-ED and CHC practitioners who wish to implement a community nutrition-based policy, system, or environmental (PSE) intervention. Focused on farmers' markets, healthy food retail, farm to school, and healthy eating in childcare, the videos videos feature public health and SNAP-Ed practitioners and community leaders from across Ohio discussing the challenges and obstacles involved in bringing a PSE intervention to fruition.

These videos feature public health and SNAP-Ed practitioners as well as community leaders from across Ohio who tackled obstacles and/or leveraged resources related to implementing one of the four community nutrition interventions. BCOP will be highlighting two videos a week over the next two months in order to share them with practitioners and community leaders who are interested in bringing similar community nutrition PSE interventions to their community. The videos will also be part of the "Resources" section of the BCOP website, which is scheduled to launch before the end of the year.

PRCHN Associate Director Darcy Freedman, PhD and BCOP Principal Investigator is excited about the launch of the videos. "We wanted practitioners to be able to hear tips and stories directly from others who had successfully faced the same challenges," she says. "Our goal is to support practitioners as they assess, plan, and act based on local community readiness and capacity for community nutrition interventions."

All of the BCOP videos are available for viewing and sharing on the PRCHN's YouTube channel.
