Ohio School Report Card Results

Not only are CMSD schools continuing to make progress but they are outpacing the majority of other districts in Ohio in terms of growth!

  • CMSD showed a 2.6 percentage point gain in K-3 literacy this year and a 4.4 percentage point gain on this measure since it was created in 2013-14, despite the fact that the passing score has increased each year.  When we compare ourselves with the other seven urban districts, we are the ONLY district that is scoring higher on this measure today than we scored in 2013-14.  In addition, when we compare our improvement with all 609 Ohio districts, we are ranked 92nd in improvement placing us in the top 15% for improvement statewide!
  • On our Performance Index, the measure which calculates all test scores for grades 3 through 12, we have shown a 5.4 percentage point gain since the new Ohio State Tests (OSTs) began in 2015-16.  This ranks CMSD:
    • second among the Ohio 8 districtsin improvement, and
    • 25th among Ohio’s 609 school districts in terms of improvement,
    • placing us in the top 4% for improvement statewide!
  • Our 78.2% graduation rate continues a trend of continuous improvement, with Hispanic students growing 23.3 percentage points and African-American students growing 22.8 percentage points since 2010-11.  This positions CMSD as achieving:
    • the fourth fastest improving graduation rate since 2010-11
    • placement in the top 1% for improvement statewide.
    • a five-year graduation rate that is the highest among Ohio’s Urban 8 districts!
