Director Erika Trapl Erika S. Trapl, PhD named Director, Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods effective Feb. 1, 2020,
succeeding Founding Director, Elaine A. Borawski, PhD, whose vision led the Center in addressing chronic health issues faced in disadvantaged Greater Cleveland neighborhoods for more than 10 years. Dr. Trapl is associate professor in the Dept. of Population & Quantitative Health Sciences and Co-Leader of the Case CCC Cancer Prevention, Control & Population Research Program

With a $2.75 million, 3-year grant from Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Foundation, researchers from CWRU will lead a community-wide initiative to create and apply innovative methods to prevent and detect lung cancer in underserved residents in NEO. Co-investigators for the initiative are: Drs. Erika Trapl, Anant Madabhushi, Kurt Stange and Catalina Teba.

Join the Health Advocacy Leadership Group and the Social Justice Institute on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 6-9 pm in Thwing 101 for this month's workshop on a critical issue facing Ohio: public health, addiction and Tobacco 21. Erika Trapl, PhD, Co-Leader of the Case CCC's Cancer Prevention Control & Population Research Program, is one of the workshop's speakers.
