Promoting Shared Use resource guide now available!
Access to opportunities for physical activity is important for everyone to be in good health. However, there is an unfair burden of poor health in under-resourced, low-income communities. Facilities such as churches and schools often sit empty during non-program hours and spaces can be
re-utilized. Shared use is a unique  tool that public and private property owners can use to fill a need in their community for recreational facilities and to increase opportunities for physical activity and programming. The PRCHN and Safe Routes to School National Partnership have created a toolkit to help nonprofits, schools, and other groups or organizations promote shared use programming. This resource guide will assist shared use policy holders and their partners with the tools to create a promotions plan, guidance on strategies and best practices for promoting their space to physical activity providers and community members, as well as examples from our very own efforts here in Cleveland.  Later this year, a complimentary guide will  be released which highlights best practices for  planning, implementation, and sustainability of shared use policies.
