State of Mental Health Disparities in the African American Community Conference
The Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition will host "The State of Mental Health Disparities in the African American Community" August 18-19, 2017. This two-day conference will examine how political and social policies have affected mental health disparities in the African American community. The conference will:

  • Examine the state of mental health disparities by exploring its impact on cultural trauma through historical documentation, systems exploration and personal testimonies.
  • Examine policies that affected the present state of disparities in the African American community
  • Discuss the impact of mental health disparities on the pursuit of health parity.
  • Ask what must be done to help shape policies that impact mental health disparities in the African American community.
