The Prevention Research Center at Case Western Reserve University has announced a new training opportunity for local health departments in Ohio.
The "Ohio Evidence-Based Public Health Course" will be held June 16-19, 2014 in Cleveland. The course is presented in nine modules over a 3.5 day period, featuring state specific data, insight from successful Ohio initiatives and guidance from instructors who practice public health in Ohio.
There is a nominal (and non-refundable) cost of $50 for the course. Space is limited to 35 participants. Participants must be currently employed by a local health department in Ohio or from the Ohio Department of Health. The course is intended for individuals who hold leadership positions within their local health department.
Housing accommodations (3 nights) are also available for those participants who live more than 25 miles from the training site at CWRU for an additional $50 fee.
Funding for this training is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
