Community Health Ambassadors
The Community Health Ambassadors are a key part of HIP-Cuyahoga’s work around healthy eating and active living. The PRCHN and its HIP-Cuyahoga partners recruited teams of residents from the REACH target census tracts and offered a ten-week workshop series in which they discussed concepts of health disparities and health inequities, giving context to what residents see around them on a daily basis. Some topics explored include how place affects health, health equity, how to create a social movement, branding their movement, conflict management, emotional intelligence, and team building. Residents from East Cleveland and the Glenville, South Collinwood, Union-Miles, St. Clair-Superior, Hough, and Central neighborhoods of Cleveland have completed the training.
