The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) held its inaugural Research Dissemination Day on September 14, 2016. Titled “Food Access and Food Security among Cleveland Residents,” the morning symposium brought together data from several of the PRCHN’s studies to tell the broader story of the city’s food environment.

PRCHN affiliated faculty and Professor of Psychiatry Dr. Martha Sajatovic recently hosted a site visit from the Centers for Disease Control's Epilepsy Program. Dr. Sajatovic is the principal investigator on three Special Interest Project (SIP) grants, which are only available to investigators affiliated with a Prevention Research Center in the CDC's national network.

The Ideas Moving Parents and Adolescents to Change Together—better known as IMPACT—is a three-year intervention program working with Cleveland families to improve their health with a focus on nutrition, physical activity, stress and sleep. Spring 2016 marks a major milestone for the IMPACT study: This will be the final race season for IMPACT participants.

Davd Ngendahimana joins the PRCHN as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow in the Building Capacity for Obesity Prevention (BCOP) program. He is a PhD student at Case and will provide expertise to BCOP related to statistical analysis (e.g., Bayesian and structural equation modeling) and web-interface development using R-Shiny.
